ULVA Integrity testing & Inspection

When it comes to corrosion prevention and control, ULVA's unique Quality Assurance/Inspection Service gives peace of mind.
This non-destructive quality assurance process, when used for installation commissioning and/or planned periodic inspection, can ensure the integrity of ULVA Shield Non-metallic Insulation Cladding.

Unlike conventional metallic jacketing systems, UlvaShield’s unique emmissivity properties (ε = 0.95) allow Infrared Thermography to effectively locate mechanical damage and more importantly, water ingress.
This frequently used service has helped locate water ingress successfully without the costly and time consuming necessity of scaffold or alternative access methods. Ulva’s IR Camera’s can effectively inspect pipework and vessels from natural platforms or from ground level.
This unique service allows thermal efficiency monitoring and water ingress to be detected on all systems clad in UlvaShield. Conventional metallic clad systems are reliant on the traditional process of building access, stripping cladding and insulation, and finally inspecting the pipework or vessel. No other system currently allows for this level of non destructive monitoring of cladding system integrity.

Vessel insulated with Cellular Glass and clad with UlvaShield. Despite several inspections, contractor could not locate water ingress. Ulva Thermography inspection quickly identified problem with structural steelwork penetration despite visual inspection showing no obvious fault.
